What the Chamber has been doing
What the year has actually consisted of — the meetings, the openings and the programmes members asked about — and the twenty-three films made with the people who run businesses here.
The work behind the posts
Most of what a Chamber does never becomes an announcement. It is a conversation in somebody’s shop, a form filled in together, a phone call to the right person at the province. Over the past year the Economic Development Officer sat down with members one at a time seventy-six times. These are the numbers underneath.

Two Young Entrepreneur Bursaries come to Luseland
The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce has named its 2026 recipients of the Young Entrepreneur Bursary, and two of them run businesses in Luseland: Evan Volk of EV Fitness and Nutrition, a Chamber member, and Sammantha Gill of Beautifully Pristine, a home-based business in town. Each receives $5,000.
The bursary is funded by the province and goes to owners aged 18 to 35 whose businesses are ten years old or less, with the aim of one recipient in every Chamber region. The Luseland Chamber put five local businesses forward this year. Thinking of applying in 2027? Talk to the EDO before the intake opens in spring.
I feel incredibly honoured and grateful to have been selected as a recipient of this bursary! This support will help me make an even bigger impact in the community. I plan to use the funds to purchase additional gym equipment that my facility currently lacks, allowing me to better support community members in reaching their health and fitness goals.
I also plan to invest in furthering my education by taking courses that will help me expand my knowledge and develop new skills to bring back to my clients at the gym.
As someone who has only been in business for a little over a year and opened my own gym just two months ago, receiving this kind of support means a great deal to me. I’m extremely grateful to the Chamber and the entire community for believing in me and supporting my business.
This is such amazing news, and I was so surprised to find out that I was chosen this year. I can’t wait to use this bursary to continue to grow my business, expand my knowledge, and see where this journey will take me. I am incredibly grateful to the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce for this opportunity.

What 76 conversations actually buy
The patternThree new businesses opened in Luseland this year with the Chamber behind them, and fourteen businesses joined in 2026 — the largest intake the Chamber has had. Neither happens from a desk. If you are weighing something up, the Economic Development Officer will come to you.
